About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- Apply disciplinary knowledge, exercise critical thinking and analytical skills, demonstrate effective and professional communication skills, and work agilely in diverse contexts to solve real-world problems.
- Design and manage a self-directed project (or projects) that require independent inquiry and collaboration with others.
- Reflect critically on the skills and knowledge you have acquired through study and real-world experiences, and effectively communicate to others how these prepare you for the future of work.
- Students will participate in various professional practices as explained by their specific employer.
This unit provides students with real-world learning opportunities in which they apply their disciplinary knowledge, exercise critical thinking and analytical skills, demonstrate effective and professional communication, and work agilely to solve real-world problems. Working with an industry partner, the internship provides a practical bridge between university and the professions. Industry placements can be created and negotiated in diverse ways to suit both students and their industry partners. Students will acquire, demonstrate and reflect upon a diverse range of skills and understandings that prepare them for the future of work.
