About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. analyse, model and reflect on effective learning environment verbal and non-verbal communication strategies and how these might be improved to establish a plan for professional learning
    2. employ a range of frameworks to determine personal and professional learning needs to develop plans for professional growth
    3. distinguish key characteristics of effective teachers and explain their ethical, legislative, administrative and organisational responsibilities
    4. research and explain the current Secondary teaching context in relation to the cultural, political and social forces that shape education
    5. demonstrate an understanding of plagiarism, paraphrasing and the principles of Academic Integrity

To enrol in this subject you must be accepted into one of the following degrees:

Core

  • CUR-SEC-MAS-2024 - Master of Teaching (Secondary Education)
  • CUR-EDS-GDI-2024 - Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary Education)

  • Other requirements -

    Access to Microsoft Office or a unit approved alternative, access to video creation and editing software.

Study load

0.125 EFTSL
This is in the range of 10 to 12 hours of study each week.
