The Undergraduate Certificate of Business is a pathway qualification into working in the field of law. In this short, four-unit course, students will develop the analytical thinking and strategic planning skills essential to their development as a law practitioner.
Students must complete one core unit and their choice of three elective units to attain this undergraduate certificate, typically requiring six months full-time study.
Students who complete this undergraduate certificate and meet the minimum grade requirement will gain entry into the Bachelor of Laws. Completed units will be credited to the Bachelor of Laws or an alternate degree if preferred.
Recommended study pattern
The Undergraduate Certificate of Business consists of 4 units. All students are required to complete the one core unit and the option of three of six elective units to complete the course requirements.

You must complete three of the following units:
- Financial Information for Decision-Making (ACC10007)
- Business for Sustainability, Social Change and Impact (BUS10014)
- Economics for Business Decision-Making (ECO10005)
- Business Digitalisation (INF10024)
- Contemporary Management Principles (MGT10001)
- Marketing and the Consumer Experience (MKT10009).
Award requirements
To qualify for the award of Undergraduate Certificate of Business, students must complete 50 credit points comprising of:
- 1 core units (12.5 credit points)
- 3 units of other studies (37.5 credit points) from the six available electives of your choice.

Entry requirements
Students must meet any of the below criteria in order to enter this course:
- Hold a Year 12 certificate of completion (Minimum ATAR requirements may apply.); or
- Completion of a Cert IV or partial completion of a Diploma or above in any field; or
- Can demonstrate relevant work experience and meet the language, literacy and numeracy requirements to study at the diploma level.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows students to gain credit (advanced standing) towards their course in recognition of skills and knowledge gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training. Bachelor of Laws
Students who complete all four units of the Undergraduate Certificate of Business with a 60% average mark are eligible to enrol in the Bachelor of Laws. All four units will be credited to the Bachelor of Laws. This pathway is open to all students who meet the entry criteria.
