Recommended study pattern
Due to the flexible nature of the course there is no prescribed enrolment pattern. However students need to have successfully completed both MTH401 and MTH402 to be able to study most of the higher level mathematics subjects. When planning their enrolment students need to be aware of prerequisite requirements and the availability of subjects.

Within the last 10 years, applicants must have completed a secondary or tertiary mathematics discipline subject that includes calculus (for example, HSC Mathematics Advanced, VCE Mathematical Methods or MTH400 Introductory Mathematics). HSC Mathematics Standard or equivalent is not sufficient. Applicants not meeting this requirement may be admitted provided they enrol in MTH400 Introductory Mathematics as their first subject in the degree.

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) and credit for current competencies will be granted to eligible applicants.
