About this degree
- Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to: Employ specialised knowledge in the theories, concepts, methods and technologies in the areas of surveying and spatial science. Examine and justify skills and knowledge in the analysis, synthesis and evaluation of appropriate technologies, methods and processes to solve and complete a range of surveying and spatial science activities. Develop advanced technical and cognitive skills to create innovative and sustainable solutions utilising cutting-edge technologies to communicate to a range of audiences including professionals, para-professionals, clients and the wider community. Apply specialised knowledge and skills of surveying in sufficient depth to accept responsibility and autonomously apply well-informed judgements regarding professional practices, theories and processes. Explain and defend appropriate judgements when identifying and responding to cultural, ethical, environmental and social issues and advanced oral and written communication skills to transmit and convey the necessary information and ideas to relevant stakeholders. Practice and assess consistent adaptation and application of academic norms and ethical standards in decision making when working collaboratively in a professional capacity and to undertake further learning and study. Illustrate knowledge of surveying and geospatial data manipulation in sufficient depth to qualify for employment, certification, and, when necessary, registration as a Professional Surveyor.

- ATAR - 74.15 or equivalent Subject pre-requisite: General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C), or equivalent. Proof of meeting the English Language Proficiency requirements is also required.

All students are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. For entry to the Bachelor of Spatial Science (Honours) (Surveying) program, applicants are required to meet the Category 2 English Language Proficiency requirements.

Study method requirements
Work experience is desirable and encouraged but is not required for the completion of the Bachelor of Spatial Science (Honours) program. Students are encouraged to obtain work experience during vacation periods.

This degree is fully accredited by the Surveyors Board of Queensland and is recognised in every Australian state and in New Zealand through reciprocal arrangements. The degree, together with relevant industry experience, enables registration and/or licensing as a cadastral surveyor with the Boards of Surveyors in Australia and New Zealand.
