About this degree
Graduates of the Bachelor of Cyber Security will have a broad and coherent body of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) knowledge, with depth in the underlying principles and concepts in the Cyber Security discipline as a basis for independent lifelong learning. The categories of the ICT core body of knowledge (CBOK) (as defined by the Australian Computer Society) are:
- ICT problem solving. This is the knowledge of how to use modelling methods and processes to understand problems, handle abstraction and design solutions
- Professional knowledge. This includes ethics, professionalism, teamwork concepts and issues, interpersonal communication, societal issues/legal issues/privacy, history and status of discipline
- Technology building. This includes programming, human-computer interaction, systems development, and systems acquisition
- Technology resources. This includes hardware and software fundamentals, data and information management, and networking
- Services management. This includes service management, and security management
- Outcome management. This includes IT governance, IT project management, change management, and security policy.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Business will have a broad and coherent body of knowledge that underpins theory, practice and professionalism within one of the disciplinary areas associated with the degree. In addition, they will have specialist technical knowledge in at least one field of business, commerce, international business or Asian studies.
This double degree will equip you with modern business and cyber security skillsets. By combining advanced cyber security techniques with a comprehensive understanding of global business dynamics and core IT principles, graduates will be prepared to implement robust security solutions while navigating the complexities of modern business environments. Emphasis is placed on fostering adaptivity, sustainability, problem-solving and creativity, enabling graduates to thrive in diverse industries and sectors. Graduates will have the required knowledge to pursue a career managing a cyber security firm, or as a cyber security analyst at any number of modern businesses.

For the award of Bachelor of Cyber Security / Bachelor of Business (BCybSec/BBus), you must successfully complete 320 credit points, made up of:
- 260 credit points for the Core Module
- 60 credit points for the BBus Major module.

Entry requirements

Griffith University's Admission Policy will apply.
English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are as follows:
- A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0
- OR a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL
- OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19)
- OR no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only)
- OR a minimum overall score of 176 (no score less than 169) on C1 Advanced (formerly Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English) or C2 Proficiency (formerly Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English)
- OR an overall score of 58 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with no score less than 50.
English test results must be no more than two years old.

You could also pursue a career as an owner/operator or business manager of a cyber security consulting firm.
