Failure to keep up to date with employment law can lead to fines and other penalties. This course helps prepare you for a career in Employment Relations and Human Resource Management by building the skills necessary to navigate Australia&#39;s legal system. It begins with a review of the foundations of the legal system before examining the system of laws governing employment in contemporary Australia. Through this course, you will develop necessary problem solving skills to use in workplace settings. This course is not available to LAW students unless the student is also enrolled in a Double Degree Program majoring in Employment Relations and where it is undertaken as a compulsory course.Students should not enrol in this subject of they have previously completed 3015EHR Employment Relations Law and 2015EHR Introduction to ER and HR Law at Griffith University.

Introduction to ER and HR Law

This subject aims to develop theoretical understanding and practical skills in training and development processes. It covers learning theories and principles, design and evaluation of learning experiences, and individual, group and organisational development within particular contexts. The course focus is on the critical issues of training and skills development within society, and today&#39;s organisations as they strive to meet the changing needs of their competitive environments.Students should not enrol in this subject if they have completed 3010EHR Training and Development/ 3080EHR Training and Development/ 2003EHR HR Training and Development/ 2083EHR HR Training and Development at Griffith University.

Rapid changes in society, international relations, technology and communication have led to flexible ways of, and increasing numbers of people, working across global borders. This course provides an opportunity for students to critically analyse global dimensions of the core aspects of human resource management, such as linkages with business strategy, structure, policies and practices; staffing, recruitment, and selection; training and development; rewards management; and performance management. The course examines how human resources are managed and problems solved within and across differing global cultural, political, economic, legislative and technological contexts. The course aims to develop globally engaged and responsible future leaders of GHRM and cross-culturally competent globally mobile employees.Students should not enrol in the subject if they have completed 3009EHR Global Human Resource Management at Griffith University.

Global Human Resource Management

Students learn to manage the employment value proposition developing an understanding of strategic staffing and designing effective performance management and rewards systems.Students should not enrol in this subject if they have completed 3020EHR Managing Staffing and Performance, 2009EHR Recruitment and Selection, or 3011EHR Performance Management at Griffith University.Pre-requisites: EHR202/2002EHR Strategic Human Resource Management and EHR205/2005EHR Organisational Behaviour and Wellbeing.

Managing Staffing and Performance

This course will provide undergraduate students with consolidation of their learning throughout the major and provides skills for high level analysis of HR organisational challenges and opportunities with a specific focus on organisational change and strategy. This course will provide students with opportunities to apply their previous HR learning and knowledge to a range of current organisational problems/scenarios giving consideration to HR&#39;s relationship to the broader business strategy and external influences through the change management process.Students should not enrol in the subject if they have completed 3012EHR Applied Strategic Organisational Change/ 3182EHR Applied Strategic Organisational Change/ 3003EHR Organisational Change. at Griffith University.

Determine the role of the manager during periods of organisational change and development. Critically evaluate theories of change. Suggest solutions to practical organisational problems. Monitor and measure the success of new organisational changes.

This subject focuses on human behaviour within organisational contexts. It highlights the relationships among people and organisations through relevant theories and concepts that are important in obtaining critical insight into current organisational behaviour issues.Students should not enrol in this subject if they have completed 2005EHR Organisational Behaviour and Wellbeing at Griffith University.

Study how people behave in organisational contexts. Measure the impact emotions and personalities have on organisational behaviour.
