This degree is the prerequisite for entry into the Master of Architecture. The degree covers the design of buildings, the technical aspects of building construction, and how architecture relates to societies, cultures and people and the way they live. Architectural ideas are communicated through written and spoken reports, photographs, drawings, models and the electronic media. Students not intending to continue on to the Master may use the knowledge gained in this degree to seek employment within the architectural profession or building industry.Software Requirements - Students will require access to the following software: Photoshop, AutoCAD and Rhino. Details on accessing AutoCAD and Rhino will be provided in due degree at the commencement of relevant subjects (please note this software is free for student use). This subject was previously known as Architecture Design 4.This subject investigates the impact of the physical, cultural and social context of a regional community on the design of a building and building groups. The design proposition is a medium scale public building in established regional settlements which provides students with an opportunity to understand local regions, their histories and to explore their potential futures. Work integrated learning is incorporated through exploring a range of complex social, regional and environmental factors in the production of architecture.Please Note: If it’s your first time studying a Curtin University subject you’ll need to complete their compulsory ‘Academic Integrity Program’. Architecture Design Studio 2B - Regional Studio

This subject was previously known as Architecture Methods 3.This subject informs the architectural design processes and investigates the relationships and translations between digital and physical modelling, drawings and their application in design. 3D Software for modelling and fabrication are employed for prototyping and representation of architectural materials and space.Please Note: If it’s your first time studying a Curtin University subject you’ll need to complete their compulsory ‘Academic Integrity Program’.
