This degree will prepare you to solve humanity&#39;s biggest challenges as a civil or mechanical engineer.The Bachelor of Engineering Systems (Honours) is designed to meet the requirements for accreditation at the level of Professional Engineer by Engineers Australia. The course is structured around 16 key competencies identified by Engineers Australia as being essential to the graduating engineer, which are broadly grouped into knowledge and skills, application, personal and professional skills.Foundational core units build knowledge of the basic sciences, practical skills and the processes and philosophy that underpin the engineering profession. You’ll then choose a specialisation to build discipline knowledge and technical skills with a strong emphasis on project-based learning. This will determine your career outcomes as you develop expertise in an area of engineering practice - either civil or mechanical engineering.The final year of the course contains a mixture of advanced core units and advanced discipline-specific units that are designed to build skills in independent investigation, critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and ethical and professional behaviour. You&#39;ll also complete 60 days of professional placement in the industry during your studies, ensuring you are ready to hit the ground running as a graduate.

This engineering degree unpacks the maths and science engineers need to solve complex engineering problems. Choose to specialise in civil or mechanical engineering. 60 days of industry placement develops your professional conduct and judgement.

Bachelor of Engineering Systems (Honours)

Duration: 5 years full-time; 10 years part-time.This double degree provides graduates with a thorough understanding of contemporary, responsible business practices, and the critical role technology plays in supporting robust business functions, as well as the technical ability to build infrastructure and systems. The course produces industry-ready professional engineers with the skills, capabilities and attributes needed to analyse and create solutions for complex engineering systems. Students choose either a Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering specialisation to develop their expertise in a field of practice. Students also choose a business-focused major from a range of subjects.A practical placement in a relevant engineering environment rounds out the student experience, with the option to also complete a professional placement in a business environment. Graduates have a skill set to pursue careers across the engineering and business spectrum, as professional engineers with management and business capabilities or as entrepreneurs capable of running their own engineering business.
