About this subject

  • Upon successful completion of this subject, the student should be able to: 

    1. Describe the theories of child development and normal development trajectories
    2. Identify common disorders of childhood and adolescence
    3. Evaluate the process of attachment in children and its role in development
    4. Evaluate the impact of the experience of trauma and illness on development
    5. Implement the knowledge and skills for engaging children and adolescents in therapy

  • TAS-COU-GDI-2024 - Graduate Diploma in Counselling

You must either have successfully completed the following subject(s) before starting this subject, or enrol in the following subject(s) to study at the same time or prior to this subject:

Additional requirements

  • Other requirements - Teaching Arrangement: 2 x 3-hr workshops per semester and 3 hrs of independent learning (self-directed learning activities) per week
