About this subject
Upon completion of this subject, the student should be able to:
- Explain theoretical foundations, practice and research concerning student engagement and disengagement
- Identify elements of student engagement using a variety of sources
- Design educational plans to maximise student engagement
- Communicate professionally and effectively across a variety of audiences

This subject focuses on the theories behind student disengagement and takes a solution focused approach towards re-engagement practices. By the end of this subject, you will have developed a comprehensive understanding of the risk factors that lead to student disengagement, the consequences of disengagement and early school leaving, and the use of data for identification and designing interventions.
