About this subject
Upon completion of this subject, the student should be able to:

- Solve authentic business and corporate law problems in a contemporary Australian business context

- Week 2 - Legal sources. Legal methods and reasoning
- Week 3 - Principal elements of the contract
- Week 4 - Terms of the contract and Australian Consumer Law
- Week 5 - Genuine consent in Contract Law
- Week 6 - Contractual remedies
- Week 7 - Torts and agency
- Week 8 - Business entities
- Week 9 - Corporate types and constitutions
- Week 10 - Corporate management
- Week 11 - Corporate obligations and responsibilities
- Week 12 - Corporate finance
- Week 13 - Corporate insolvency
This subject covers a wide range of interesting legal topics and teaches students how to apply corporate legal theory to solve legal problems. These are essential skills for those wishing to work in both the fields of accounting and business management. The subject combines business and corporate law including the sources of law in Australia; how to read and understand legislation and case law; basic corporate structures; contract law principles; tort law; agency and consumer law in an Australian business law context.
