Literature Review
About this subject
At the completion of this course you should be able to:
1. Identify current and significant scholarly literature that is relevant to their research project;
2 Gain knowledge of his or her field of study and of methods by which it might be approached;
3 Evaluate that literature to determine prevailing knowledge and arguments, and identify relationships between literatures;
4 Recognise gaps and biases that may exist in relevant literature or knowledge; and
5 Determine how their own research might contribute to existing scholarship.

- How to conduct and write a critical and systematic review
In this course, students will complete a critical review of scholarly and other significant literature that relate to their thesis topic or area of study. Tuition will be provided in an intensive format or by supervision, though much of the learning approach will be student-driven and performed independently. This course will directly support the completion of a postgraduate research project, such as a thesis.
- Oral Presentation of Model Literature Review. (20%)
- Preliminary Draft of Literature Review. (30%)
- Final Draft of Literature Review. (50%)
