This is a capstone subject. It is at the experiential end of the legal studies spectrum. This subject brings together the theory and practical skills you have developed throughout your legal studies course. Specifically, it hones your legal research skills and your ability to apply legal authority. As well, it improves your capacity to argue persuasively. The subject has three modules. Module I builds your legal research skills to an advanced level. And, it considers legal, equitable and statutory remedies. Module II sharpens your skills in communicating clearly, concisely and correctly in plain language. Module III, requires you to prepare a written submission based on a legal problem. You must then present your oral submission as an advocate in the Moot Court.
There is a non-mandatory 1 day intensive school available for this subject held at UNE Sydney Campus. Dates for this intensive school to be advised.
Assignment 1 (Module I): 2500 words. Relates to Learning Outcomes 1-3;
