About this subject

  • Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to:

    1. demonstrate an in-depth understanding of principles, practices and the role of management information systems (MIS) in organisations, how IT is adopted and used in organisations;
    2. exhibit advanced knowledge of storing, managing, and processing data to yield relevant information in a MIS, with focus on both business process and information technology;
    3. demonstrate an understanding of the role that business intelligence (BI) and business analytics (BA) play in decision support system for making informed business decisions; and
    4. perform comparative analysis of various practical BI tools used in the industry, evaluate and critique the use of BA techniques for analysing complex information systems.
