About this subject

  • Upon completion of this subject, students will be able to:

    1. critically discuss the accessibility and usability issues which arise in order to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners;
    2. identify potential barriers to learning in education, training or workplace settings;
    3. apply the design principles of Universal Design for Learning and User Experience to address issues of accessibility or usability; and
    4. describe a range of software and hardware solutions that can address key barriers to learning.

Additional requirements

  • Equipment requirements - Headphones or speakers (required to listen to lectures and other media). Headset, including microphone (highly recommended). Webcam (may be required for participation in virtual classrooms and/or media presentations).
  • Software requirements - It is essential for students to have reliable internet access in order to participate in and complete your units, regardless of whether they contain an on campus attendance or intensive school component.
