Applied Criminology

About this subject

  • On successful completion of this subject, you will be able to:

    1. Critically analyse, evaluate and compare a range of applied criminological practices and policies
    2. Apply a synthesised understanding of contemporary criminology theories to explain the development of criminal issues of domestic or transnational significance
    3. Employ independent research skills and disciplinary knowledge to evaluate domestic and transnational criminal issues
    4. Effectively communicate advanced disciplinary knowledge in both written and oral formats
    5. Effectively analyse and evaluate national and international criminal justice policy.

  • Other requirements - Students who have an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion under Macquarie University's Academic Progression Policy are not permitted to enrol in OUA units offered by Macquarie University. Students with an Academic Standing of Suspension or Exclusion who have enrolled in units through OUA will be withdrawn.
