About this subject
On successful completion you will be able to:
- Appraise and critically review the physiological differences / changes occurring during different stages of the life span.
- Analyse and critically review the nutritional requirements for preconception, pregnancy, lactation, infants, children, adolescents, adults & older persons.
- Evaluate and critically review the dietary/nutritional issues and habits and behaviours of particular relevance to each life stage group.

In this subject, you will develop an understanding of nutrition requirements and physiological changes across the lifespan: pre-conception, pregnancy and foetal development, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood and ageing. You will also learn about food and nutrition dietary patterns across the different life stages. You will be able to combine prior nutritional and biosciences knowledge and skills to gain a more in depth understanding of human nutritional needs, and habits/practices/behaviours.
