Learning Difficulties and Disabilities
About this subject
On successful completion you will be able to:
- Identify educational and social implications for children with diverse learning needs.
- Describe and identify a variety of ways to accommodate children with diverse and special needs when planning learning activities.
- Implement and plan individual learning programs that utilise best practice teaching strategies and interventions and maximise learning outcomes for children with special needs, while reflecting non-discriminatory practice.

- Adaptive Learning Experiences
Children may experience a range of learning difficulties or learning disabilities that will interfere with learning. In this subject students explore strategies to identify and reduce the impact of learning problems in early childhood contexts.
- Part A: Individualised Education Plan Diagnostic task (approx. 200 words) (10%). This assessment task will be undertaken within the first 2 weeks of the term. Part B: Individualised Education Plan (approx. 1800 words) (40%) (50%)
- Reflective essay (2000 words) (50%)
