About this subject

  • On successful completion you will be able to:

    1. Design and conduct a feasible and small-scale nutrition project that is informed on contemporary nutrition evidence, uses relevant nutrition assessment skills, and uses appropriate data analysis methods to solve a real-world scenario.
    2. Formulate and justify outcomes and/or recommendations which are supported by relevant scientific nutrition evidence and acknowledge the strengths and limitations of nutrition-related research methodology.
    3. Apply the principles of ethical conduct of research and standards of ethics for nutrition professionals.
    4. Communicate scientifically, truthfully and professionally to disseminate the project outcomes and/or recommendations to a range of stakeholders.

To enrol in this subject you must be accepted into one of the following degrees:

  • LAT-HUN-DEG-2024 - Bachelor of Food and Nutrition

Prior study

You must either have successfully completed the following subject(s) before starting this subject, or currently be enrolled in the following subject(s) in a prior study period; or enrol in the following subject(s) to study prior to this subject:

Please note that your enrolment in this subject is conditional on successful completion of these prerequisite subject(s). If you study the prerequisite subject(s) in the study period immediately prior to studying this subject, your result for the prerequisite subject(s) will not be finalised prior to the close of enrolment. In this situation, should you not complete your prerequisite subject(s) successfully you should not continue with your enrolment in this subject. If you are currently enrolled in the prerequisite subject(s) and believe you may not complete these all successfully, it is your responsibility to reschedule your study of this subject to give you time to re-attempt the prerequisite subject(s).

You won't be able to enrol into this subject if you've already successfully completed or currently enrolled in the following subject(s) as they are considered anti-requisites due to the similarity of the content.

Prerequisites: Students must be admitted in the following course: HBFN and have completed 240 credit points.
Past La Trobe University students who have previously completed DTN3EPO (Epidemiology and Research Skills for Nutrition) and DTN3NPO (Nutrition Project) are ineligible to enrol in this subject.
