About this subject
After successfully completing this subject, you should be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the dynamics and influence of all self-generated and other-generated communications (i.e. physical, verbal and non-verbal) on an individual's espoused image.
- Research and strategically analyse internal strengths/weaknesses and external opportunities/threats in the diagnosis of self in the context of job/career market needs.
- Create a self-marketing plan that demonstrates knowledge of the 4Ps of the self-marketing mix (i.e. prowess, physical cues, persona and presentation) and how they inform self-marketing strategy development.

This course applies the principles of marketing to oneself. As such, broad topic areas include the self-marketing mix, self-marketing research, self-marketing tactics and implementation and self-marketing evaluation. In doing so, students learn how to develop, manage and sustain positive self-images/brand that are well-received in the "real world", both on a professional and personal basis.
Students should not enrol in this subject if they have previously completed 3029MKT Self-Marketing at Griffith University.

What’s a single subject?
Single subjects are the individual components that make up a degree. With Open Universities Australia, you’re able to study many of them as stand-alone subjects, including postgraduate single subjects, without having to commit to a degree.
Each of your subjects will be held over the course of a study term, and they’ll usually require 10 to 12 hours of study each week. Subjects are identified by a title and a code, for example, Developmental Psychology, PSY20007.
How can I use single subjects to get into a full degree?
First, find the degree that you would like to study on our website.
If that degree allows entry via undergraduate subjects, there will be information about this under the Entry Requirements section. You will find a list of 2-4 open enrolment subjects you need to successfully complete to qualify for admission into that qualification.
Once you pass those subjects, you will satisfy the academic requirements for the degree, and you can apply for entry.
