About this subject

  • After successfully completing this subject you should be able to:

    1. Explain the philosophical and theoretical underpinnings of qualitative research.
    2. Describe key criteria of appraising qualitative research.
    3. Appraise the research design, rigour and ethics in critical review of published qualitative research.
    4. Compare different techniques for qualitative data collection and the practical and ethical issues involved.
    5. Develop and practise a method for qualitative data collection.
    6. Employ thematic analysis using NVivo to manage and analyse qualitative data.
    7. Interpret and present qualitative data findings.
