Integrated Practice in the Secondary School
About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- develop integrated practice in Secondary School based on local, national and international theory, research and practice
- develop a critical perspective of difference, diversity, sustainability and their significance in the Australian curriculum
- apply high-level discipline knowledge, principles and concepts to plan and develop inclusive and integrated teaching and learning experiences to enhance learning for a diversity of Secondary School students
- appraise a range of resources; including technologies, and make appropriate selections, including those which support and enhance the development of integrated Secondary teaching programs
- Module 1: Values and the Australian Curriculum
- Module 2: Integrated Practice in the Secondary School
- Module 3: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures
- Module 4: Asia and Australia’s Engagement with Asia
- Module 5: Sustainability
This subject prepares pre-service teachers for integrated and embedded teaching the in secondary school to support and challenge a diverse student cohort. The modules focus on values, the Australian Curriculum, integrated practice and programming and through a themed focus on: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures, Asia and Australia’s Engagement with Asia, and Sustainability.
