About this subject
At the completion of this subject students will be able to:
- review and compare precedents to generate, order and sequence formal and spatial relationships to design a resilient building infrastructure
- critically evaluate complex design options in response to a decarbonised and sustainable agenda employing 2D and 3D graphic techniques to critically respond to the site, functional requirements, cultural and environmental contexts
- integrate knowledge of industry codes, structures and services in a complex building proposal to enhance inclusive and sustainable Architecture

This subject focuses on the conceptualisation, methodological development and design of conceptually and programmatically complex medium to large-scale buildings. A response incorporating decarbonising strategies, sustainable design principles driven by building industry innovation, environmental resiliency and inclusive access is incorporated into the project work. The design process will take account of the project brief, multiple cultural perspectives, knowledge and contexts in the process of design and conceptualisation. Students will develop a critical position that will inform their design process. Work Integrated Learning will be incorporated throughout the unit by using a mode of teaching where design activity will take place in workshop situations / on sites/simulation of the real-world project/interaction with community and industry.
