The Bachelor of Education (Primary) has been designed for people seeking to attain an Initial Teacher Education qualification in order to register as a teacher in Australia and any other countries that recognise an Australian teaching qualification. Bachelor of Food and Nutrition

Bachelor of Arts

The University of New England offers a flexible approach to the study of law. UNE boasts one of Australia&#39;s largest law schools outside a capital city, as well as being an early adopter of innovative technology in the delivery of its law programs. The Bachelor of Laws (4 year) is designed for people who are new to university study or to the study of law, including school leavers or people who want to change careers or get a qualification.The Bachelor of Laws is accredited by the Legal Profession Admission Board of NSW for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW and mutual recognition legislation extends admission to other Australian jurisdictions. After completion of academic qualifications in law, there is a range of employment options from which to choose. Graduates who wish to be admitted to practice as a solicitor, barrister or legal practitioner anywhere in Australia will also have to undertake a course of professional legal training (PLT). This can consist of approximately half a year&#39;s full‐time training undertaken internally or externally, or of equivalent part‐time training. In some jurisdictions, it may be possible to do articles of clerkship instead. Because the system adopted varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, enquiries should be made to the admission authority in the state or territory in which you intend to practice; this is usually a committee of the Supreme Court of that State or Territory or a special body set up to administer admissions to the legal profession. This subject was previously known as EDC151 Child Development for Educators.Situated in the context of theory and research, this subject provides an overview of typical and atypical human development from conception to adulthood across physical, cognitive, social and emotional domains. Biological and environmental influences on development are examined. Implications for contemporary educators are explored with a focus on maximizing developmental outcomes from birth through young adulthood. In addition to emphasis on knowing your students and how they learn, this subject focuses on effective engagement and interaction with parents/carers and maintaining safe school and care environments for children and adolescents. Gain an overview of human development from conception to early adolescence. Interpret aspects of development related to age—exploring how the interactions between the child, caregivers, home and school impact children's development.

Child Development for Educators

In this subject, you will first be introduced to concepts fundamental to the understanding of Human Physiology such as the organisation of the human body, homeostasis, basic cell structure and function, body fluids and the movement of molecules within body fluid compartments. The basics of nervous system and endocrine system function in the context of physiological regulation and homeostasis will then be explored. This information will provide the foundation for the study of major organ systems of the body including the muscular, digestive, cardiovascular, immune, respiratory, renal, and reproductive systems. This subject will also include content on metabolism of nutrients and acid-base homeostasis.

Map the complex architecture of the human body and learn how it’s organised and structured. Navigate the journey of the smallest cell to the largest organ. Observe how the body performs and adapts, responding to stress and disease to maintain life.

Introduction to Human Physiology

This subject introduces students to the disciplines of criminology and criminal justice. It begins with an examination of the nature of crime and how it is defined and measured in contemporary society. The subject then provides an overview of the impact of criminological theories on our understanding of crime problems and the implications for criminal justice responses. A major part of the subject is focused on the dimensions of crime and the way crime is shaped by a range of personal and social characteristics. For example, we explore the relationship between crime and social class, the links between age and crime, the relationship between gender and crime, and the reasons for the substantial over-representation of Indigenous people in all parts of the criminal justice system in Australia. Importantly, the subject also explores the main criminological theories that have shaped how we understand why crime occurs, which have direct implications for how we respond to and reduce crime. These theories include structure and process theories, individual difference theories, and meaning making theories.

Examine crime and the ways it’s defined and explained in contemporary society. Study the relationship between crime and class, youth and crime (and the response), gender and crime, and the over-representation of Indigenous people.

Introduction to Criminology and Criminal Justice

Academic and Professional Communications

This for-credit subject is a preparatory mathematics subject intended for students who have not completed secondary school mathematics and who have insufficient background for the more advanced mathematics required for success in MAS162, MAS182 and MAS161. The topics covered include algebra; polynomials, exponential and logarithmic functions and their graphs; matrices; basic concepts of differential and integral calculus and applications.Please Note: All students studying at Murdoch University will need to complete the compulsory unit, Murdoch Academic Passport (MAP100), which only takes 2-3 hours to complete online. Get up to speed with the base level of maths you’ll need for coding. Build or refresh your working knowledge of maths, covering algebra, trigonometry, derivatives, and more. You’ll be able to solve mathematical problems and progress to advanced courses.

Please note: This subject is available in Macquarie Session 3, which is an intensive semester that spans only 5 intensive teaching weeks, plus a mid-semester recess and an assessment period. Students are advised to enrol in only one or two subjects in Session 3. Students who would prefer to take the unit over 13 teaching weeks should enrol in the Session 1 offering. In this unit, you will be introduced to the broad and diverse field of psychology. A range of topics in psychology will be covered in lectures and tutorial activities, learning both theoretical basis and practical applications of psychological science. The course further introduces best practices in acquiring, communicating with consumers, and retaining customers on the internet. The course examines digital technologies and their impact on, and implications for, marketing strategy, consumer behaviour, market segmentation, advertising and media planning. Pre-Requisites: NIL. Co-Requisites: NIL. Students should not enrol in this course if they have previously completed 3040MKT Digital and Social Media Marketing at Griffith University.
