An advanced subject which examines the techniques and problems involved in writing long fiction - specifically the long story, the novella and the novel. The unit also explores the relationship between media and culture, critically analysing media representations that inform our ideas about particular topics, other cultures and people. This subject will provide you with a nuanced perspective on how the economy has changed over recent decades, why it matters, and what might happen next.
