Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Applications for Business

In this subject, you will learn about the procedural nature of cyber security and the tools defined by the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP). You will analyse the effectiveness of threat and vulnerability mitigation through use of contemporary cyber security frameworks. You will be exposed to mitigation strategies, operational controls and countermeasures needed to address various threats and vulnerabilities. Offensive Cyber Security and Penetration Testing

As a result, new business models in Industry 4.0 have emerged. In this subject you will be introduced to key concepts, principles and practices that relate to designing for technology and innovation. You will examine approaches that drive digital innovation, through applying design thinking, user experience and other contemporary methods for exploring problems and opportunities. In addition, you will investigate how digital transformation is a collaborative and creative process that enables for opportunities in the digital economy. You will therefore learn how to use design thinking tools and techniques and other human-centred approaches to identify, analyse and develop innovative approaches and transformational solutions. In addition, you will develop the skills needed to be an innovative and reflective practitioner.This subject also introduces learning through practice by exposing you to authentic learning experiences. Designing for Technology and Innovation

In this subject you will learn about three key areas of data analytics in cyber security. Using a series of tools to develop your cyber security analytical tool kit, you will begin by conducting basic data analysis using Excel and build an analytical dashboard in Excel which will allow you to dynamically update the dashboard based on the dataset entered. With these skills you will then transition to network data analytics for threat hunting and incident response, culminating in an assessment on post-infection threat analysis. Finally, you will undertake active network monitoring and analysis using cutting edge industry tools, that will form your final assessment. The progression of practical skill development in this subject will add progressive complexity to your understanding of data analytics scoped to cyber security and align with a Security Operations Centre (SOC) analyst&#39;s role.

Learn how to collect, analyse, and present data for cybersecurity. You’ll explore analytical techniques and tools that identify patterns, anomalies, and potential security breaches. Harness the power of data to protect organisations from cyber threats. 

In this subject, you will learn how computer networks are constructed, how they work, and how modern applications use the services provided by modern computer networks. The concept of protocol layering will be explored to learn how computer networks operate, using the OSI Model and TCIP/IP protocol suite as examples, including an examination of the functionality and protocols provided by the different layers of these systems. You will use this information to design a network to industry specifications.This subject also incorporates learning through practice by exposing you to authentic learning experiences.
