This subject helps you to understand the important role that the Health Information Manager plays in providing performance-based information as well as monitoring and reporting upon clinical data for service improvement opportunities.This subject is recommended for second-year undergraduate students who have completed all first-year subjects in the Bachelor of Health Information Management. This subject includes synchronous sessions held during business hours. This means that you will attend sessions each week simultaneously with your facilitator and classmates.

Health Information Governance

In this subject, you are introduced to the broad concepts of health data and system development lifecyle (SDLC) and the purpose, scope, design and functionalities of health information systems. You will explore the theoretical concepts behind systems planning, analysis, design, implementation, evaluation, support and maintenance of the systems development lifecycle including issues that impact systems, data and information security.
