Globally, financial crime and money laundering costs companies, governments and individuals more than $1.45 trillion, according to the World Economic Forum. Additionally, compliance obligations are ever evolving as regulatory requirements, technology advances and inefficient operations cause rise to new and various risks that need to be mitigated. The Master of Financial Crime Investigation and Compliance will equip you with the knowledge you need to ensure compliance with various local and global regulations, as well as the tools you need to investigate inappropriate or illegal use of funds.This program is offered full-time and part-time at Nathan and Online in Trimester 1 and Trimester 2. With some courses also available at other campuses, you may choose to study a combination of online and on-campus.

Tackle illegal use of funds transnationally. Topics include forensic accounting and cyber security. You’ll build skills in risk management and governance. Stay on top of the changing regulatory environment. Lead organisations to manage cyber fraud risks.

Failure to keep up to date with employment law can lead to fines and other penalties. This course helps prepare you for a career in Employment Relations and Human Resource Management by building the skills necessary to navigate Australia&#39;s legal system. It begins with a review of the foundations of the legal system before examining the system of laws governing employment in contemporary Australia. Through this course, you will develop necessary problem solving skills to use in workplace settings. This course is not available to LAW students unless the student is also enrolled in a Double Degree Program majoring in Employment Relations and where it is undertaken as a compulsory course.Students should not enrol in this subject of they have previously completed 3015EHR Employment Relations Law and 2015EHR Introduction to ER and HR Law at Griffith University.

Introduction to ER and HR Law

Using the life cycle of a company, the operation of the Australian corporate regulatory framework is illustrated. Thus this subject examines: company registration; corporate governance issues arising from the company&#39;s daily operations, and the external administration of a company on its insolvency. Prerequisite: AFE215: Introduction to Business Law. Students should not enrol in this subject if they have previously completed 2106AFE: Company Law at Griffith University.

Company Law

This subject provides students with an overview of the Australian legal system as it pertains to commerce and management. It also provides detailed knowledge in the area of contract law and a knowledge of the law as it applies to torts, particularly professional negligence and to partnership. Students should not enrol in this subject if they have previously completed 2105AFE: Introduction to Business Law at Griffith University.

This subject was previously known as IRL140.This subject responds to the need for employment relations and human resource managers to effectively manage increasing diversity in organisations with workforces having a range of cultural, ethnic, gender, (dis)ability, age and other differences. The subject examines legislation and practice and the search for balance promoting equity and productivity.Students should not enrol in this subject if they have completed: 7041EHR Managing Diversity and Inclusion at Griffith University.

Appreciate the legislation and practices that can impact the quest for a more equitable and diverse workforce.Search for the balance that promotes both equity and productivity. Assess competing theories about how to manage diversity in the workplace.

Managing Diversity and Inclusion

This subject introduces students to the law relating to financial products, financial markets, lending and other finance related activities of Australian banks and other financial institutions in the private sector. Topics covered include the Australian financial system; the relationship between lender and borrower; the statutory regulation of credit; loans to differing forms of business organisations; consumer credit - including Consumer Credit Code, EFT Code of Conduct, payment system and mechanisms, Managed Investment Schemes: real and personal property and the law and enforcement of securities and consequent remedies through the courts/tribunals as well as alternative dispute resolution methods. Prerequisites: AFE215 Introduction to Business Law. Students should not enrol in this subject if they have previously completed 3105AFE: Law of Finance at Griffith University.
