David Menarry
Nominee Director - Curtin University
David has been Curtin University's Chief Financial Officer since 2004. Curtin is Western Australia’s largest university, with over 60,000 students locally and internationally, assets of $1.5 billion and annual revenues of approximately $900 million.
With Australia's third largest international student population, Curtin also has campuses in Sydney, Malaysia and Singapore and conducts face-to-face teaching in eleven countries. David has been instrumental in significantly improving the University’s financial position through strategic financial leadership and rigorous financial management, enabling substantial improvements in research and teaching outcomes.
David leads a team of over 110 staff with broad responsibilities and has proven change management and process improvement skills. David also has extensive corporate experience including financial advice, due diligence, stock exchange reporting on many multi-million dollar listings and acquisitions, risk management, corporate finance, and audit (assurance) in Australia, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
David is a Fellow of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
David has held a number of board and community-based roles over the last 10 years.
