About this subject
On completion of this subject students should be able to achieve the following learning outcomes:
1. Critically evaluate health care challenges within scope and area of practice outlining relevant nurse. sensitive indicators (NSI) and a plan of action for these.
2. Synthesise current nursing/midwifery frontline leader’s ’role in the health care system and compare their work practices to evidence based practice of quality initiative.
3. Develop a project brief about a quality initiative integrating relevant current evidence available.
4. Analyse current contemporary practice to determine if it meets the benchmark of evidenced based practice.

This subject will enable students to consolidate their knowledge and apply current contemporary quality concepts including the quality cycle, LEAN, clinical audit, risk management & mitigation and best practice for safe, efficient and relevant patient care.
