About this subject

  • At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

    1. critically analyse the historical and socio-cultural context of local, national and international architecture
    2. critically evaluate architectural places in terms of cross-disciplinary and contextual relationships
    3. recognise the relationship between identity and heritage in local, national and international architecture
    4. critically evaluate the issues and problems surrounding heritage and conservation
    5. actively engage and participate in learning

To enrol in this subject you must be accepted into one of the following degrees:

Core

  • CUR-BAS-DEG-2025 - Bachelor of Applied Science (Architectural Science)

Elective

  • CUR-FAST-DEG-2025 - Fast track your Curtin on campus study

Others

Level 2 subjects normally assume an introductory level of prior knowledge in this area, eg for this subject the completion of BAS130 Architecture and Culture. Ensure all Level 1 subjects have been completed.
Pre Requisite: Successful completion of 150 credit points.

Additional requirements

  • Equipment requirements - Audio video equipment required. Access to hardware: webcam, speakers and microphone.
  • Other requirements - Access to the internet. Admission to degree required. Provide an email address.
