About this degree
On successful completion of the program students will:
- Have developed interpersonal skills required to work collaboratively with other professionals and stakeholders.
- Have a sound working knowledge of people and behaviours in multidisciplinary environments.
- Be capable of applying theoretical and empirical knowledge in a real world context.
- Be skilled in applying research methods and the practical application of data.

- Be able to analyse needs of organisations to make informed decisions regarding applied psychological issues.

The Master of Business Psychology is designed for graduates from a variety of disciplines seeking to advance their leadership and management skills from a psychological perspective to enhance performance and wellbeing across workplace contexts.

Entry with a 3 year Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) in a discipline other than psychology: Volume of Learning is 160 units:
- Core Courses - 80 units
- Directed Courses - 60 units
- Elective Course - 20 units
Entry with a 3 year Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) in the discipline of psychology: Volume of Learning is 120 units:
- Core Courses - 60 units
- Directed Courses - 40 units
- Elective Course - 20 units
Entry with a 4 year Bachelor (Honours) degree (AQF Level 8) in a discipline other than psychology or a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma (AQF Level 8) in a discipline other than psychology: Volume of Learning is 120 units:
- Core Courses - 80 units
- Directed Courses - 20 units
- Elective Course - 20 units.
Entry with a 4 year Bachelor degree (AQF Level 8) in the discipline of psychology or a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma (AQF Level 8) in the discipline of psychology: Volume of Learning is 80 units:

Entry requirements
- Students with a three year Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) in a different discipline area (also called non-cognate discipline) to psychology are eligible to undertake the 160 unit program which can be completed in 2 years full time or 4 years part time.
- Students with a three year Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) in a psychology discipline (or cognate discipline) are eligible to undertake a 120 unit program which can be completed in 1.5 years full time or 3 years part time.
- Students with a four year Bachelor (Honours) degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma (AQF Level 8) in a non-cognate discipline are eligible to undertake a 120 unit program which can be completed in 1.5 years full time or 3 years part time.
- Students with a four year Bachelor (Honours) degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma (AQF Level 8) in a psychology discipline (cognate discipline) are eligible to undertake the 80 unit program which can be completed in 1 year full time or 2 years part time.
All Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the University’s English proficiency requirement:
- IELTS Overall Minimum: 6.5
- IELTS Sub Test Minimum: 6
If you have additional qualifications or experience above what is required for admission, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning (RPL). This means you can complete your degree faster with less courses to complete. Different pathways are outlined on each degree page.
