Career opportunities

As a graduate, you will be well qualified for employment in traditional and diverse roles ranging from early learning centres to kindergartens and P-3 classrooms in primary schools in Queensland, as well as elsewhere in Australia and in many overseas jurisdictions, subject to local requirements.

Professional recognition

As a graduate, you are prepared to support the learning of children from birth to eight years of age, which means you are eligible to apply for teacher registration through the Queensland College of Teachers. To be eligible for registration in Queensland, both domestic and international students are required to attend the majority of placements in settings within Australia. In addition to completing all requirements for the degree, students need to pass the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) prior to graduation. It's recommended that students pass the LANTITE before the successful completion of 16 courses. Please register for the LANTITE test through the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) website. This program is approved with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
